The Del Monte brand is more than a household name—it’s literally a household staple, a familiar fixture in any pantry. The Del Monte Foods team wanted to proudly showcase their ESG commitments with a report that would dig deeper into the data points and get to the human stories at the core of their impact.

Del Monte Foods’ choice of agency to develop their report content was a crucial one. Their ESG director, Molly Laverty, would be away on parental leave during a significant portion of the report’s development, so Del Monte Foods needed a partner who could rise to the occasion, plan for a flawless execution, and keep momentum going all the way to the finish line. We knew we’d need to gather all the most important inputs and story direction at the very beginning of the process to work around our key contact, Molly’s, time away. So we buckled down and charted a course for the entire project—not only conducting the usual strategic research and interviews upfront, but planning every last detail of the project at the outset.

The report that arose from all that planning not only represented a culmination of measures and metrics. This meant we covered everything from sustainable seed breeding to post-consumer resin packaging, and from school lunches for kids in need to water reduction in tomato-peeling operations.
